A bit late posting this but it only came out this week and I love it. Its produced by Plan B and is a precursor to Kwabs’ debut album, out late 2014 on Atlantic.
If you’ve not heard this producer/artist yet, you NEED to take a listen. I like it anyway.
A lot of excitement growing around this band following the release of their ‘Le Surfing’ EP earlier this year.

Wolf Gang hit the comeback trail with the Black River EP released 29th April on Cherrytree Records. The band are heading out on a US on tour with Bastille throughout May before coming back to 2 shows at London’s Lexington in early June.
The EP leads the campaign for the band’s sophomore album, due out later this year and follows their Atlantic-released debut Suego Faults.
Kwamie Liv hails from Copenhagen, Denmark and recently put out the first 2 tracks from her upcoming EP on soundcloud; a cover of The Weeknd’s ‘What You Need’ and the Lana Del Rey-channelling ‘5AM‘. Initial reaction has come from Giles Peterson on Radio1 and, bizarrely, Sudan’s Capital radio station who have her on rotation.
More interestingly, Kwamie is the latest artist on the roster of NYC-based manager Le’Roy Benros, famed for discovering Das Racist, Angel Haze and new star of NYC hip hop, the NAS-approved Bishop Nehru.
Shout out also to Kwamie’s production partner Baby Duka. Well worth checking him out too.
Got put onto this great new act Aquillo yesterday thanks to Guardian’s NBOTD. Two dudes from the Lake District making downbeat, melancholic electronica. The lead track ‘You There’ is pretty special, if not especially ‘immediate’ for all you Pop heads.
Managed by the lovely Hamish Harris – firstname.lastname@example.org – he knows how to pick ’em.
The EP is out now – Buy it on iTunes: smarturl.it/AquiloEP
Norfolk types Port Isla just released this little gem of a song, with Huw Stephens getting the exclusive spin on Radio 1 the other day. Its a song that shows a bunch of influences coming through, but I think if you imagined, for one horrible moment, Dan from Bastille fronting Mumford & Sons, you’d have a pretty good idea of where theses guys are coming from. This is the lead single from the band’s debut EP and will be in iTunes from 28th April, the year of our Lord 2014.
Another great new artist coming from the folks at Zap Records. Detroit-native Daniel Wilson has just dropped his new EP which premiered on LOBF this week, “…soundscapes that inhabit the space between dreams and reality” just about sums it up.
